Confession of Faith

We believe that there is only one holy and eternal God, the Creator of heaven and earth (Gen. 1:1; Ex. 3:14–15; John 4:24; Ps. 5:4).

We believe in Jesus Christ, who was begotten by the Holy Spirit in a miraculous manner and born of Mary, a virgin—as no other man was ever born or can ever be born of a woman—and that He is the Son of God. He bore the cross, shed His blood, and died for the atonement of our sins, and He promised that He will come again (Matt. 1:18–25; John 19:30; 1 Cor. 15:20; Heb. 10:10). Through faith in Jesus, we receive salvation and eternal life by grace and truth (John 1:17; John 3:16; John 14:6; John 17:17; Eph. 2:8–9).

We believe in the Holy Spirit, who is actively working in the world today. He equips and empowers us to serve God and leads us to eternal life (John 14:16–17; John 15:26; John 16:7–11).

We believe that the Bible is the infallible and inerrant Word of God, which is God-breathed and God-inspired, recorded by man. It is the foundation for our salvation, the forgiveness of sins, and for living by faith (2 Pet. 1:20–21; Heb. 8:10–12). No one should add to or subtract from the Word of God, including the Book of Revelation, which is the Word of Prophecy in the new covenant (Rev. 22:18–19).

We believe that man was originally created to be perfect in God’s image, but through the disobedience and betrayal of Adam, sin entered the world and thus separated us from God (Rom. 5:12–21).

We believe in the resurrection of the dead and that, in order to be saved, sinners must be born again with the seed of God—that is, the enduring Word of God. This new birth is a new creation in Christ Jesus; in the new birth, the one dead in trespasses and sins becomes a partaker of the divine nature and receives eternal life, the free gift of God (John 3:3; 2 Cor. 5:17; 1 John 5:1; 2 Pet. 1:4; Rom. 6:23; Eph. 2:1; Col. 2:13).

We believe that all believers are meant to be united as one body of Christ, working together for the glory of the Lord and to bring others to salvation, as commanded by the Lord according to the Great Commission (1 Cor. 12:12–27; John 17:21–23; Matt. 28:19–20).

We believe that God desires for all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Tim. 2:4).

Statement on the Relation of the Zion Christian Mission Group to the Shincheonji Church of Jesus

In recent weeks, we have received an increasing number of inquiries about the relation of the Zion Christian Mission Group to the Shincheonji Church of Jesus. Since this question is of concern to a large number of our members as well as many other pastors and religious leaders, we would like to take this opportunity to clearly position ourselves in this regard and to clarify any misunderstandings that may exist.

The Zion Christian Mission Group and the Shincheonji Church of Jesus are two independent organizations that pursue entirely different goals.

The Zion Christian Mission Group (ZCMG) is a neutral and interdenominational network of pastors whose goal is to bring together leaders from over 40,000 Christian denominations, to overcome divisions and to fulfill God’s goal of unity in Christianity as stated in His Word. Unlike a church, membership in the Zion Christian Mission Center does not require that one follow a particular doctrine or that one reject one’s previous doctrine in favor of such membership. Therefore, all Christian denominations that want to work to promote the unity of the largest world religion are welcome. We are aware of the fact that there are sometimes huge differences in the views and teachings of the individual denominations. Our focus here is on finding common ground in order to enter into a dialogue together.

To this end, we offer Bible courses as well as mentoring programs, counseling, joint events and exchanges. However, completing these courses or participating in our various programs is not mandatory for membership in the Zion Christian Mission Group, but merely an offer to deepen one’s knowledge of the highest word of our time as well as one’s own abilities as a leader.

Regarding the Shincheonji Church of Jesus, it should be noted that, along with many other churches, it is a member of the Zion Christian Mission Group. It has the same rights and obligations as all other members. Under no circumstances does any member of the Zion Christian Mission Group have any influence on the fundamental direction of our work. Our platform is also not used for the missionary work of any individual denomination. In case you observe any of such behavior of one of our members, please feel free to contact us at any time. The same applies to any further questions or ambiguities of any kind. We strive to present our work and vision as transparently as possible and are grateful for any comments in order to avoid any irritations in the future.
