Confession of Faith

We believe that there is only one holy and eternal God, the Creator of heaven and earth (Gen. 1:1; Ex. 3:14–15; John 4:24; Ps. 5:4).

We believe in Jesus Christ, who was begotten by the Holy Spirit in a miraculous manner and born of Mary, a virgin—as no other man was ever born or can ever be born of a woman—and that He is the Son of God. He bore the cross, shed His blood, and died for the atonement of our sins, and He promised that He will come again (Matt. 1:18–25; John 19:30; 1 Cor. 15:20; Heb. 10:10). Through faith in Jesus, we receive salvation and eternal life by grace and truth (John 1:17; John 3:16; John 14:6; John 17:17; Eph. 2:8–9).

We believe in the Holy Spirit, who is actively working in the world today. He equips and empowers us to serve God and leads us to eternal life (John 14:16–17; John 15:26; John 16:7–11).

We believe that the Bible is the infallible and inerrant Word of God, which is God-breathed and God-inspired, recorded by man. It is the foundation for our salvation, the forgiveness of sins, and for living by faith (2 Pet. 1:20–21; Heb. 8:10–12). No one should add to or subtract from the Word of God, including the Book of Revelation, which is the Word of Prophecy in the new covenant (Rev. 22:18–19).

We believe that man was originally created to be perfect in God’s image, but through the disobedience and betrayal of Adam, sin entered the world and thus separated us from God (Rom. 5:12–21).

We believe in the resurrection of the dead and that, in order to be saved, sinners must be born again with the seed of God—that is, the enduring Word of God. This new birth is a new creation in Christ Jesus; in the new birth, the one dead in trespasses and sins becomes a partaker of the divine nature and receives eternal life, the free gift of God (John 3:3; 2 Cor. 5:17; 1 John 5:1; 2 Pet. 1:4; Rom. 6:23; Eph. 2:1; Col. 2:13).

We believe that all believers are meant to be united as one body of Christ, working together for the glory of the Lord and to bring others to salvation, as commanded by the Lord according to the Great Commission (1 Cor. 12:12–27; John 17:21–23; Matt. 28:19–20).

We believe that God desires for all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Tim. 2:4).

Statement on the Relation of the Zion Christian Mission Group to the Shincheonji Church of Jesus

  • The Zion Christian Mission Group is a Theological Institution and neutral network for churches internationally , which was founded in 1990 by Chairman Lee Man-hee with the aim of proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ of the coming Kingdom of God (Isa 2:2-4). Prior to this, ‘New Heaven New Earth Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of Testimony’ (Rv 21:1) is a church institution that was also founded by the Chairman Lee, but was established in 1984. For this reason, both institutions have always been in agreement but are organised separately and want to make their contribution to the unity and completion of God’s kingdom.
  • The parties listed are dedicated to the task (see objectives above) as neutral partners for other churches and organizations. Any intentions or new objectives will always be communicated with the cooperating parties and presented openly in order to avoid misunderstanding and division.
